Mustafarian Lava Roll is a sweet pastry found at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and Oga’s Cantina. It is absolutely delicious. It’s one of the “out of the world treats at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” as mentioned in popsugar.

Disney’s fort wilderness resort is an interesting place with amazing food and ambiance. Mustafarian lava roll has been one of the favorite items in star wars: Galaxy’s edge’s menu at Disneyland. This is a must-try delicacy when you visit Batuu.

The virus has made it literally impossible for us to visit our favorite places, however, has motivated us to make a lot of things that otherwise, we would have never bothered to even try and one such thing is Mustafarian lava roll.

I tried to recreate that chocolaty & tangy cinnamon roll so that we can enjoy it whenever we want. It is a Chocolate cinnamon roll with raspberry dripping and cookie crumble. I added Oreos because Anything with Oreo makes it tastier, doesn’t it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This recipe can be a show-stopper for your next gathering, a side dish for tea, or maybe for dessert. It will fit right in! My husband loves it for breakfast, what better way, than to start the day with a star war delicacy, Mustafarian Lava roll. These can last for up to 3 days, Bake a batch and have it whenever you feel like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ingredients for Mustafarian Lava Roll

For Dough:

  • 2+3/4 Cup brown flour
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2+1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 Large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • !/2 Cup Milk

For Filling:

  • 2 Tbsp Butter (softened at room temperature)
  • 1/2 Cup Confectioners Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 Tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Corn flour

For Topping:

  • 1/2 cup Raspberries (frozen)
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Lemon
  • 4 Oreo biscuits

Step by step Instructions for Mustafarian Lava Roll

For Dough:

Step 1

Firstly, mix Flour, salt, sugar & yeast together in a bowl.

In a small cup add milk, butter and water and microwave for 40-45 seconds. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.

Knead for 3 minutes and form a dough. You can use an electric mixer as well. while kneading, if the dough feels hard, add 1- 2 tbsps. of water. Grease a bowl with olive oil or oil spray and transfer the dough. brush the dough top with oil and cover loosely with a cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes in a warm place.

Step 4

Sprinkle flour onto a clean countertop and transfer the dough. Sprinkle some more flour on top and roll into a rectangular shape.

Step 5

Spread the cocoa and cinnamon filling on top. Sprinkle chocolate crushes evenly (optional). Roll the dough and seal the side with water. This will help the rolls from opening while baking. Cut the ends. Slice the roll with a thread. The tread keeps the rolls in shape and doesn’t press the ends together, as when using a knife.

Step 6

Place the rolls on a baking sheet. Cover the tray with cling film. Store the tray in a warm area for 50 minutes to let the rolls rise.

Step 7

Beat the yolk in a bowl, brush this on to the rolls. Bake on preheated oven at 180 degree C for 15 minutes.

For filling:

Soften the butter at room temperature. Microwaving butter for 10-15 seconds also works. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Add the required amount of water, mostly 4 -5 tablespoons of water to get it to a spreadable consistency.

For topping:

Raspberry drizzle

In a pan, add raspberry, sugar, and lemon juice. Boil this mixture till the raspberries melt in. Use the spoon to crushes the raspberries. Strain this mixture to attain smooth raspberry syrup.

Note: Do not throw the strained raspberries in the colander. This makes for a delicious raspberry spread for bread.

Oreo Crushes

Well, crush the Oreos, that’s it!

You can crush it however you want. Fill into a food bag and Beat with a roll or Grind using a food processor for few seconds. Make sure, you Grind on the pulse to get that chunky crushes.

Final Step

Top with raspberry drizzle and Oreo crumble. Delicious Mustafarian Lava rolls ready to eat!

Notes

Storing: You can store theย rolls in an airtight container for up to 3 days.ย ย 

Freeze: Freeze at dough stage, wrap the individual rolls and place them in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw for 6 hours in the refrigerator when you want to bake and follow the same procedure.
