How do I cook Chicken strips so it’s tender?
Marinating the chicken with yogurt makes it tender. The longer you marinate, the softer and juicier it gets! however, chicken strips do not need much time to get tender, as the strips are thin and chicken breast soaks in the moisture pretty quick. Sometimes when I am in a hurry I marinate it for 10 to 15 minutes and still can achieve tender strips.
You can substitute yogurt with buttermilk or milk with vinegar.
How do you make chicken tenders crispy?
In this recipe, we use single coating method to make it hustle free and quick. The strips turn out to be pretty crispy. If they are not, then try frying them for a little longer. Serving hot keeps the crispiness in check, but after sometime they can get soft. To keep them crispy even when cold try the double coating method.
In the double fried chicken tenders recipe coating method ,
- First dip the marinated chicken to the flour mixture.
- Dip this into a slightly whisked egg mixture.
- Coat it again with the flour mixture.
- Place it on a drying rack to maintain the texture.
Also, to get the texture, wiggle the strips off of any excess flour. this will create that crispy chicken texture that we all love!
Why is my chicken not crispy?
Cook the chicken on medium flame. Too low flame will make the chicken soak in oil making it soggy. Too high flame will burn the cover, when the chicken gets cooked in the inside.
Fry it on medium flame and take out one chicken tender, to check if its cooked and crispy. If not crispy enough, try cooking it a little longer to attain that crispiness. Also check the double coating method to add to the crisp.
How do you keep chicken crispy?
One method is to transfer it to a plate with kitchen tissue to soak in all the excess oil. You can have it waiting in an oven if you are making many batches of it. This will keep it crispy till it is served.
If your oven is busy, you can place a baking sheet on a casserole with tea lights to keep it hot and crispy. Also follow the double coating method, if you have extra time. 😉

All you have to do is, place the tortilla, spread some mayonnaise/ ranch sauce/ Greek yogurt (healthier opotion), ketchup, chopped Romanian lettuce, chopped cucumber, add the strips. Grill them on a sandwich maker or toast on a pan to get that slight crisp. The tasty wrap ready!

Can you freeze floured chicken?
Place the chicken tenders on a tray and put it in the freezer for an hour. You can then place them in a freezer bag, this will keep it separate without loosing the texture.
How to cook frozen chicken breast strips?
Take it out of the freezer and directly add it into the medium heated oil. Letting in sit outside before frying, will make the chicken strips loose its texture.

Fried Chicken Tenders Recipe (spicy)
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This recipe requires minimum cooking skills and is a quick & easy. Make these for dinner along with pits bread, wedges and your favorite dip or make Crispy chicken wraps and enjoy.
Crispy chicken strips ingredients
- Cut the chicken breast into strips, add the ingredients for marinating and let it marinate for atleast half an hour.
- In a bowl, Mix all the ingredients required for coating.
- Dip the chicken strips into the coating mix, wiggle it with the spoon and you will see a texture form.
- Transfer it directly into oil, deep fry it at a medium flame. ( if you coat and keep it in a place, it will lose its texture)
- Cook each side for 4 minutes. Serve hot.
Cook on medium flame, if cooked on high flame, the chicken strips can look cooked on the outside but will stay uncooked inside.
