RED MI A3 – Full Review

Xiaomi Mi A3 is the company’s third-generation Android One, mid-range phone. Xiaomi launched the Mi A3 Android One smartphone in India on 21st August 2019. The Mi A3 is priced at ₹12,999 for the 4GB RAM variant. It is also available in a 6GB RAM variant for ₹15,999.

MI A3 is targeted by young buyers who are conscious about the looks. The design is the main selling point of it. Xiaomi, during the launch of Mi CC9, said that the smartphone was designed by art students. The Mi A3 will come with stunning back panels that refract light to form wavy reflections.

Key Specifications:

Display:

The Mi A3 comes with a 6.88-inch AMOLED HD+ display with a resolution of 1560×720. It has a U-shaped notch to accommodate the front-facing camera. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 chipset paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.

Camera:


USP of the Xiaomi Mi A3 is the 32MP AI selfie camera which comes with features like Portrait mode, scene detection and palm shutter. Other camera specs include the triple lens setup at the back. This comprises of a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor having an aperture of f/1.79. At the back, it has a triple camera setup in a 48MP+8MP+2MP configuration. At the front, it has a 32MP selfie camera.

There is a considerable camera bump due to the large sensor, and the company said that the camera part also has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection to prevent scratches.

Storage:

There are two RAM variants of Xiaomi Mi A3- 4GB and 6GB paired with 64GB and 128GB internal storage. Both the models are priced at Rs 12,999 (4GB) and Rs 15,999 (6GB). Hybrid SIM slot is present on the left that accepts two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM and a microSD card up to 256GB.

Battery:


The device is backed by a 4030mAh high-capacity battery with an 18W fast charger. For privacy, the phone comes with 7th Gen in-screen fingerprint unlock and AI Face unlock.

Multimedia:

On the bottom there is a speaker grill, USB Type-C Port and the primary microphone. On the top there is a secondary microphone, 3.5mm audio jack and an Infrared sensor. The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right side. The phone has a 3D glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. You can see the Xiaomi and Android One branding on the back.

Like all Android one devices, the Mi A3 runs the latest version of Android and guarantees consistent software and security updates.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 starts at Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and will be available from Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting from August 23rd.
