China grass sharbat is one of my childhood favorite which a is perfect coolant for summer and ideal for Ramadan. Make this drink when you need something cool and refreshing. It’s a multi textured dessert beverage with various cooling and delicious components. So, make the most of the warm weather this summer with this delicious refreshing drink.
- 1/2 litre water
- 2 grams china grass ( or place the whole china grass strip on finger vertically and measure till 1st division of finger approx. and cut horizontally, for 2 grams)
- Food colors, red, blue, yellow (or color of your choice)
- 1 litre milk
- 3 Tbsp basil seeds
- 1/2 cup vermicelli
- 1/2 cup milk powder
- 1 cup sugar (or as per your taste)
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp rose water
- Chopped Almonds with skin (roasted)
- 5 scoops vanilla ice cream
Step 1, Preparation of China Grass
Bring water to boil, add china grass strips and 1 tbsp sugar. Continue boiling until strips get dissolved.
Now divide this liquid into 3 to 4 parts in different glasses ( depending upon the number of color you are using) add different food colors to the all the glasses.
Strain the liquid into the plates as shown.
Let it set at room temperature for at least 1 hour. Now cut them into small cubes and set aside.
Step 2, Make the vermicelli or sev, following the instructions on the packet. Set aside
Step 3, Soak basil seeds in one cup water for 10 minutes and set aside.
Step 4, Pour milk in a vessel, add sugar and Milk powder, mix well.
Step 5, Now add soaked basil seeds, cooked vermicelli, chopped china grass cubes, vanilla essence, rose water, chopped almonds and combine well. Lastly add vanilla ice cream and served chilled.
