Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is a mid-range smartphone by the Chinese company that comes at a starting price of Rs 14,999 for the base RAM and storage variant of 6GB+64GB. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Pro model will be running on the latest MediaTek Helio G90T processor that is designed for gaming.
There are two higher variants of the device: 6GB+128GB that is priced at Rs 15,999 and 8GB+128GB that is priced at Rs 17,999. Note 8 Pro is almost six months old but it has aged well in terms of the design.
Redmi Note 8 Pro launched in China in August 2019. It features a 6.53-inch LCD panel with a small notch on the top. It has 1080 x 2340px resolution and comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There are four colour variants that the smartphone comes in: Halo White, Gamma Green, Shadow Black, Dark Blue.

The device is powered by an octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) MediaTek Helio G90T (12nm) processor with 6GB RAM. It has Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. It has an integrated fingerprint (rear-mounted) camera, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, and compass sensor. The Redmi Note 8 Pro mobile phone runs on Android 9.0 based MIUI OS.
The main thing is the quad-camera system on the Note 8 Pro. The camera comes with features like LED flash, HDR, and panorama shot.
The phone camera includes a 64 MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and PDAF. A second 8 MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2 MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The phone comes with a 20 MP selfie camera that supports HDR, and Panorama shots as well. It will help users in clicking selfies as well as video calling.

It has a 4500mAh non-removable battery with fast charging technology. The phone is available in three variants, 64GB/ 6 GB RAM, 128GB /6GB RAM, and 128GB / 8GB RAM. It supports a microSD expandable memory up to 256GB. Xiaomi has especially added the microSD card feature for the Indian smartphone market, while the Chinese variant of the phone doesn’t have an expandable memory feature.

The smartphone is available in multiple configurations including a 64 GB / 6 GB RAM, 128 GB / 6 GB RAM, 128/ GB / 8 GB RAM, 256 GB / 8 GB RAM. It has a dedicated microSD card slot on the left side of the phone which can expand the memory of the phone up to 256 GB. This smartphone allows you to use dual SIM cards and features a dedicated microSD card slot with up to 512GB expandable storage.
MediaTek’s Helio G90T (12nm) processor is meant for gamers, according to the company. Dedicated to gaming and engraved in 12nm, the system on a chip allows mid-range smartphones to enjoy an excellent performance during an intense gaming session. The Redmi Note 8 Pro proved to be pretty good at handling the game.
It is the first chip to bring the latest 64MP1 4-cell sensor cameras, which allows brands to integrate a variety of lens and sensor options ranging from ultra-wide to telescopic or a depth-mapping sensor or HDR.

MediaTek has also added a Technology called HyperEngine which the company states offer an enhanced gaming experience by offering responsive touchscreens, faster framerates, HDR support, and intelligent networking which allows it to switch quickly between Wi-Fi or 4G and connecting to two Wi-Fi bands at the same time.
Does it have a headphone jack?

Even if you don’t rely on wired headphones all the time, the Note 8 Pro has you covered on the wireless front too. As with wired audio, the Note 8 Pro scored very well against the competition when it comes to Bluetooth.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is indeed a better performer than its present competition, as revealed by benchmarks and gaming. The MediaTek Helio G90T SoC is fast but suffers from poor thermal management. It also draws more power by keeping all the cores fired up at all times during game. Now performance is just half the story when it comes to the Redmi Note Pro devices.
