Finally, Samsung has revealed its most awaited truly flagship, S20 Ultra which is an absolute mammoth of the smartphone. The phone is packed with 16 GB RAM, that’s more than most laptop and computers. It’s not just better than any flagship phone that has ever released before, it is a level above. You can almost call it a superphone. Let us dig in to find out more!!!
Design and Display
Samsung S20 ultra comes with the best 6.9-inch display with AMOLED technology for deep contrast and brightness of 800 nits across the whole display. Display is combined with tiny bezels all the way around that almost feels border-less. So it’s safe to say that this is the best display on a phone right now.
Furthermore, it has 240 Hertz touch response to match which is as twice and fast as before. S20 Ultra looks fantastic when compared to the standard S20 which visually looks not too distinct from the company’s own mid-range phones.
I really loved that Samsung smoothed out the edges of the phone. It doesn’t have that steep curve which S10+ has. So typing on this is a lot more enjoyable than typing on the S10+. It’s also interesting that they moved the placement of fingerprint scanner towards the middle of phone where your thumb gets to it a bit quicker. It’s just a more comfortable position to use.
The beefy camera module is a bit thicker which looks like a double camera bump. You will find a quad-camera setup made up of 12MP ultra-wide lens empowering 120-degree view, a 108MP wide-angle lens allowing 79-degree view, a 48MP telephoto lens with a 24-degree view and a depth vision camera. This is one of the only Galaxy devices that come with a 108 MP camera which has the capability of zooming up-to a 100 times. The other crazy thing about this device is the fact you can shoot an 8k video.
Battery and performance
There are 2 colours available of S20 Ultra i.e cosmic grey and cosmic black. The black is the better colour out of two in my opinion. I wish there were more colours this year but it is what it is. However you can fast charge it with a wired 45- watt fast charger which supports Qi-enabled wireless charging. In addition, a 25-watt charger is also included.
The S20 ultra fully supports 5G and fully supports both the Sub-6 and wave networks. You also get a USB-C cable for charging and data transfer with a pair of AKG headphones which is amazing.
The speakers have got a bit louder and it’s pushing the high end, a bit higher. There isn’t a headphone jack so don’t get too excited but there are USB-C and they sound good so at least they package those in.
Overall, Samsung has tried to pack all the possible features to make it an outstanding flagship which stands to be the superior smartphone of early 2020.
